I recently flew halfway across the country to visit a close friend and go to my first ever major league baseball games. (I KNOW.) And what sleepover would be complete without MANICURES?!
I wore a simple look with Butter London - Trout Pout for my first game, because Mike Trout. :)
We watched Saturday’s game in our PJs and did fancy manis, my friend did mine using OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls and China Glaze - For Audrey for a gradient with polka dot fade. LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL IT WAS. The other manis were done with Butter London - Scallywag (gradient) and Essie - After School Boy Blazer (dots).
I knew I wasn’t going to catch a foul ball from our seats so I bought one at the souvenir shop on Sunday instead. ;) Baseballs are bigger than they look on TV, not so good for mani shots. >.>
My last game was Tuesday, and I knew I had to wear red. China Glaze - Ruby Deer with a Rainbow Honey - Diamond Dust gradient was perfect, I never wanted to take it off. Sidenote, I’m totally going to have to get Diamond Dust now, it was amazing!
Also the Angels won every game while I was there. #LTBU
- SquareHue - Kalverstraat
- OPI - It’s Frosty Outside
My last Zoya mani (Marley) lasted a week on me, which is SO rare. It finally wore enough that I switched it out for something new, a trendy bright coral + metallic accent. It’s kind of a magazine look but I’m loving it!
Radiant orchid spectrum!
- Zoya - Perrie
- Zoya - Marley
I’ve already worn two of the babies from my Zoya Earth Day haul. Can you tell I was in the mood for pastels??
Perrie totally deserved the win for best radiant orchid polish in ALU’s tournament. She is my manic pixie dream orchid, seriously. I don’t love pink-toned purples by default, but I could not stop staring at my nails when I had it on. I actually considered reapplying it when it started to wear, that’s how much I loved it!
I had been planning to get Perrie for a while, but Marley was an impulse buy. So glad I took the chance, though. The color is insanely flattering, and the formula is TO DIE FOR. It has just the right amount of fine shimmer to give it a light sheen without streaks, and it barely needed two coats to be opaque! I was stunned.
The whole line-up: Gemma, Josie, Dillon, Blu, Marley, Heather, and Perrie. *purrs*
- Color Club - Age of Aquarius
- Pure Ice - Grunge (velour finish)
- OPI - Love Athletes In Cleats
Some manis from the past week or so! I was short on time for a while, so I went for matte nails. I actually reapplied the same color because I liked it so much and wear wasn’t as terrible as with other mattes I’ve used. The greenish ones (not color accurate >:|) were from Easter — we spent the day hiking along the shore with the puppy. The red ones, from the MLB collection obvs, were an attempt to bring luck to my favorite team. (It worked.)
The Neverending Pile Challenge - 4/25 - Had to have it, still haven’t worn it
- China Glaze - Budding Romance
I hoard off-putting greens, but I never got around to trying this one. I think I was scared of the jelly formula. And it is a true jelly, but it was opaque enough for real life in two coats. Probably could have used three for the pictures, but eh. I have terrible luck with jellies getting dented up and shrinking on me when I use more coats. I do so love the translucent squishy finish though!
I have a few polishes I thought I might use for this prompt, especially a couple from OPI’s Wild West collection that I obsessively tracked down (and quite possibly overpaid for). But I felt like wearing green today. >.>
The Neverending Pile Challenge - 4/11 - A Random Untried
- OPI - Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around
- Victoria’s Secret - Steal the Show
I bought Bossa Nova kind of on a whim (using my 20% Ulta discount) because my friend highly recommended it and because I loved Taupe-less Beach. Steal the Show, on the other hand, was on my want list for aaages before I finally bought it using a birthday coupon. I’m glad I did, it was a breeze to apply and it’s basically my dream neutral rose gold.
The Neverending Pile Challenge - Pastel
- Butter London - Billy No Mates
- Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure - Barracuda (3 coats)
- OPI - Gargantuan Green Grape (3 coats)
- Butter London - Sprog
- Butter London - Alcopop
All five of these were actually untried! I think that makes up for skipping the first day of this challenge. There’s no way I’m going to be able to keep this up over the next few months anyway, but I’ll probably be popping in now and then. I need a kick in the pants to use my untrieds, there are a lot of them haha. Oops.
Thanks to Missy at Gnarly Gnails for putting this together!
Zoya Naturel Collection
Everything the bloggers have said about these is true. So dreamyyy.
